Behavioural Social Work with Schizophrenic Patients in the Community

BARBARA L. HUDSON

The author is a lecturer in Applied Social Studies at Oxford University. She trained in social work at the Universities of Chicago and Newcastle, and was a psychiatric social worker prior to entering research and teaching at the London School of Economics.

Summary

A preliminary project on the application of behaviour modification procedures in the home setting is reported together with comments on the social needs of schizophrenic patients and their families. The article includes suggestions about social work with this client group based on the project experience.
