Summary

This paper describes the results of a research project in which the first year's work of a newly-established Probation Court Intake and Assessment Team was monitored. The subsequent changes in the practices of the probation officers are analyzed in relation to client careers and organizational boundaries; some implications for social work practice are discussed.
